Does anyone have any info on a group called the Bluegrass Playboys? They were in the 1940's and the band members were June Thompson, Elmer Burchett, Paul Mullins, Thurman Endicott and Walter Adams. They put out an album called the Bluegrass Playboys, if anyone has any info would you please post a message here i am changing my email address Thank you in advance Shirley

I know a Walter Adams near Louisa, Ky. that use to be in a band.
Was the Bluegrass Playboys from the Louisa area?

The book i have on Lawrence Co. states that they were a Lawrence based group. Thurman Endicott was my husband's greatuncle, talk in the family is that Thurman was a great player. Shirley

You mentioned a Lawrence Co. book, is that the Lawrence Co. History book?

yes my aunt Elouise gave it to me she got it in 1979 because we have alot of relatives in and around Louisa especially in the Blaine and Irish Creek area. I would like to find out some more info on the Bluegrass Playboys and i would like to talk to Mr. Adams thank you again Shirley

Small world isn't it? I was raised on Irish Creek.
I e-mailed Mr. Adams phone number & address to you, I got it from Yahoo people search, did you get it?
There is a Lawrence Co. Ky. History book that was published around 1991, I'll check in it Friday & see if there is anything.

I know an Elmer burchett and he had as bother Bill Burchett.Elmer and Bill has both passed away. They lived around Plain City,Ohio. I have one of Elmer Burchett records.I dont know what happed to the rest of the group.I thank some of Elmers bro.and sister lives near Plain City.Geneva

My uncle Elmer Burchett was the Banjo player in the Bluegrass Playboys.

My dad is John and Elmer and Bill were my uncles. My dad still lives in Plain City. I know that the fiddle player Paul Mullins just passed away not too long ago.
