I am trying to gather information on Canadian musician Stompin' Tom Connors and whether he is connected to the Connors family of Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick.

Stompin' Tom Connors was born Charles Thomas Connors on February 9, 1936 in Saint John, New Brunswick, to Isabel Connors and her boyfriend Thomas Sullivan.

I find no mention of Isabel in the Provincial Archives. Her date of birth would have been approx. 1920... therefore, she would not be location in the 1911 Census.

I have a growing database on the Connors family of Blacks Harbour, which brother Lewis and Patrick founded the seafood company Connors Bros. Ltd. Local lore has it that Tom was related to the family.

I've just received word that there appears to be no connection with Tom Connors and the Connors Family of Blacks Harbour.

"You probably won't find any of Toms family roots in N.B as the Connors name from his side comes from Boston. His grandfathers name was John Connors, a ship captain from Massachusettes. He met Toms grandmother in N.S. Much of this info is in his autobiography "Before the Fame".

Does his autobiography mention how he and famous New Brunswick fiddling sensation, Ned Landry were related as cousins. I heard it was on his father, Thomas Joseph Sullivan's side.
