Harness Sewing Machine, Cast Iron, Treadle, Czech Crest

Looking for any information on when or where a Cast Iron Treadle Harness Sewing Machine was made. Between the upper machine body and the treadle, there is a cast iron brace between the machine's legs. It was made with a Czech crest in it - looks like a castle with a lion on either side. The treadle is also ornate with filigree & a heart shape. We are assuming that this machine was brought with the immigrant family from Bohemia or was ordered & shipped from Bohemia. Has anyone seen one of these or have any information on when/where it was manufactured? The family that owned the machine came to the U.S. in the mid-to-late 1800's. Would appreciate any advice on where to look next for info. Not having much luck so far.

Are you still searching Kikuts from Latvia?

Surnames: Kikuts, Masalska, Ritt, Taisons, Tifentale
Yes, Marina. I did get some information from the International Tracing Service that had my Great-Grandparents listed as Adams Kikuts & Rosalie Masalska Kikuts and my grandfather Stanislavs was born in Rezekne. The ITS information also states that Adams Kikuts and my grandfather's youngest sister were sent to Siberia on June 14, 1941. My mother did not know this and I believe that my grandparents were most likely protecting their family by remaining silent. Do you have any information? My grandmother was Vilhelmine Veronika Ritt Kikuts, daughter of Richards and Veronika Ritt from Jekabpils. This is also somewhat of a stumbling block. My mother & her family say Veronika Ritt's maiden name was Taisons. On the paperwork from the ITS, it is stated that Veronika Ritt's maiden name was Tifentale. I have been looking through the online Latvian Library's newspapers for information on any of the above names but it is slow work! I apologize for not using any diacritical markings as I don't have the program installed on this computer. Using the markings has made a world of difference in research. Thank you for replying, I appreciate any info I can get. Shirley

Hi Marina - I don't have a birthdate for Adams Kikuts but I would guess it to be approx. 1880-1885. My grandfather Stanislavs was born on November 23, 1905 in Rezekne. He had an older sister named Vera and two younger sisters named Bronja and Lydija (I am guessing at the spelling). I think there were two Stan Kikuts as I have found one with a younger birthdate living in Bauska region.

Hello Shirley!

It's been over a year since my last post. Unfortunately, I forgot what the topic I wrote and just today again found this correspondence. I think that it is more convenient to talk personally to time to respond to messages.
