I'm not absolutely sure exactly when the Cherokee Strip Live Stock Association started. The report below says 1880 to 1883. Another report says "March 7, 1883, at Caldwell, Kansas." Personally I believe it was sometime before the March 7th date but don't think it was much earlier than late 1882. There seems to be some evidence that the association was active by the March 7th date at least.
