Church of God in Christ Info Request

I have been told by a family member that my grandfather, Solomon Ford was a Pastor at the Mack Avenue Church of God in Christ, located in Detroit Michigan. The time frame would be in the late 1920's. Solomon Ford died 25 April 1929 and supposedly had his funeral at the same church. I am interested in finding out if this church is still around (the exact address) and some history of the church (especially during the late 1920's).

How to find information on ministers

I am researching Jeremiah Farley from Harlan, KY and have found many sources of information. On his grave stone he is listed as Rev. Jeremiah Farley, however, I can find nothing else that lists him as being clergy. I have found him listed as a farmer in the censuses I have found and I have not seen a family story to explain this. Any idea where I could look to find out when and where he became Reverend?

Newspaper clipping about Benjamin KLAUSER

This is from a family scrapbook--I thought it might be helpful to someone somewhere. There's no date on it, but the other clippings on the page are from the early 1950s. I believe it's from the Elmira Star Gazette.

Flats Church to Seat Pastor

The Rev. Benjamin KLAUSER will be installed as pastor of the Big Flats Presbyterian Church in ceremonies at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Everts H. HOWELL, moderator of Steuben-Elmira Presbytery, will preside.
The following ministers will be guests and will take part in the ceremonies: The Revs. Floyd HENDERSHOT, and Wesley W. KEHLER, both of Big Flats; Lillian CHAPMAN of Elmira, Dr. Elmer J. STUART of Corning and Carl GRABB of Painted Post.
The Rev. and Mrs. Klauser and family will meet members of the church at the manse after the installation services.

Re: Help with deciphering Crockford's entry

I think this is Curate of Burnley, Leeds, (in charge of St, Margaret's Mission Church). Probably some special Mission in a poor district. He got a B.A. from Jesus College, Oxford in 1903. Getting an M.A. from Oxford in those days was by eating enough dinners "in hall" to qualify (or something similar), not another period of study or taking an exam. This would not stop him being ordained in 1905 after having gone to Theological College in Ely.

Help with deciphering Crockford's entry

Hello

Below is an entry for an ancestor that I found in the 1932 edition of Crockfords. I have attempted to decipher it, but could do with some help confirming it.

LEWIS, David Joseph Bertie. – S.D.C. Lamp. B.A. 1901. Jes. Coll. Ox. B.A. (4th cl. Mod.Hist) 1903, M.A. 1908. Ely Th. College. 1904. d 1904, p 1905 Rip. C. of Burnley, Leeds (in c. of St. Marg. Miss. Ch.), 1904-1906; St. Nich. Cathl. Newc. T. from 1918. (P, Visc. Allendale ; Gross and Net Inc. 375l and Ho; Pop. 2132.) Rectory, Allendale.

My interpretation is this:

David Joseph Bertie Lewis
Bachelor of Arts, 1901, St David’s College, Lampeter, Wales
Bachelor of Arts, Modern History (4th class), 1903 Jesus College, Oxford University.
Master of Arts, 1908.
Ely Theological College, 1904.
Deacon, 1904.
Priest, 1905, Ripon.
Curator of Burnley, Leeds (in Church of St. Margaret Miss. Ch.), 1904 – 1906.
St Nicholas Cathedral, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, from 1918.
Patron to the Viscount of Allendale.
Of the Rectory, Allendale.

My main issue is with the part about Burnley, I can't understnad the church name. Also, the timings of his degrees, and entry into the clergy, e.g. it seems he went to theological college in 1908, but was a deacon and then a priest by 1904/5.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Tom
Brother Reusswig and family

I am looking for any information on the REUSSWIG family. Georg Heinrich "Henry" REUSSWIG was a Moravian Minister mostly in the Minnesota/Dakota areas. He may have started in New York. Another family member who was a minister in the Moravian Church was Ernest Ludwig WEBER who was a missionary in various locations. Other "Moravian" surnames I am interested in would be ALBERT, OTTOW, SCHARBOW, and ROCKEMAN (ROCKEMANN). Thank you in advance for any help you have.
