Family rumor has it that my uncle Charles Bird, aka Charlie LaBird was traveling with the company of the Hagen-Wallace Circus in June 1952 when his truck stalled. He and other family members pulled over to fix it. He was struck by a passing car and died about two weeks later in a Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia hospital. The death certificate confirms the date line but I have no other details. I managed to locate an awsome photo of him in full clown costume that can be viewed on Buckles web log. It was posted Fri. Apr. 25 2008, Wallace Bros. Cir. 1938-40 #8. Please help me find something that I can cherish and pass on to my family.
