I think this might be Sells Brothers Circus? Maybe I am mistaking it for another Circus. My great uncle premiered with Sell Bros in the mid 1800s.

I have not been able to find a historical link that proves that the Sello Brothers Circus owned by O. Roy Bible is in any way associated with the Sells-Floto circus. History does clearly state that my grandfather, Charles LaBird, Sr. was side show manager with Sello Brothers, among other things. I wish you best of luck with your search.

I finally found an article about Roy Bible that includes a photo. I hope this is helpful for you. Have you managed to find any other information since we last messaged?

Thank you for the picture. I have seen this one before. Unfortunately no new information has emerged. My best source for Roy Bible is circustoryhistory.org. Another great source that spans more than a decade of articles is books.google.com. Good Luck.

This is the only newspaper photo I have of Bible. I found two pictures of him with a horse on circushistory.org. Do you have other photos? Better quality photos? Please share if you do.

Thank you.

As I said before I do not have any new O R Bible info. I wish I did because he traveled from coast to coast with my grandfather while with Sello Circus. My father and mother never spoke of my grand parent's circus history. I was not even aware of it until I started building my family tree. I do not have any living relatives to help me with my research at this point.

I ran across Billboard Dec 30 1944 Billboard article that said Sello circus was taking a two week break and that Mrs. Sello was traveling to Emporia KS. Newspapers.com has an article published by the Emporia Gazette Wed., May 29, 1963 which mentions O Roy Bible as a plantiff but you have to have a subscription to read the full article.

I ran across a Dec 7 1946 Billboard article that mentions Robert M (Hi-Brown Bobby) who drove the trucks for O R Bible for 10 years. This might be a clue.

Good luck with your search.
