South Seas Company Archives
I am researching a mariner [died 1712/13] who bequeathed some papers to the [then] South Seas Company. I am trying to find the current location of the Company archives but, unfortunately, it is proving difficult to find anything useful on the Internet because of the wealth of information on the "Bubble". Does anyone know where the papers of the Company, and hence the Papers bequeathed to them, are held, please? It is possible that the Company's archive passed to another company hen it was wound up. Does anyone know what company this may have been, please?

Re: South Seas Company Archives
You're welcome. Well it's not exactly what you were looking for or hoping to find, i.e. a one stop shop single archive for the company records, similar to the sort of situation that exists for the Honourable East India Company records, and unfortunately most material in Kew isn't digitised and has to be viewed on site, and there are so many relevant separate files in Kew for your topic, but I guess that it's a place to start, so good luck with your project.

Re: South Seas Company Archives
It is actually much better than I expected to find! There are worse places than TNA to find an archive. Unfortunately, if the papers I am trying to trace are at TNA, they are not easily identified in the catalogue so I am in for a long trawl.
Thanks again for your help.
