Can someone help me out by telling me how I would locate sawmills in the area of Lee County, Walnut Township area...1930's? (currently reading all posts for possible help)
Thanks!

Sometimes census records of that area are a help if you look at the occupations of the people they usually are in the same area and you can ususally find the saw mill owner if you keep looking. It takes a lot of time that way but I don't know of another way. Let me know if you find a better way. thanks

That is a super link. I did not find my needed information. My grandfather died in a sawmill accident in Coy,Arkansas between 1911-1920. Maybe closer to 1915. He was George Willis James Hale so there are so many brick walls with that many names and nick names added to that. Do you have any suggestions for me or do you have new sawmill information since the post in 2005?

Where is Coy, Arkansas. You might be able to look in the local newspapers. You can get access to their microfilms that would be great. I know that Harrisburg's Modern News is on microfilm through their library. It might at least help you find out what name was most common if you can find the article on his death. Also, check some of the mortuary's they might give you a copy of his death notice if they still have it in their file.

Thank you for your help. Coy is in Lonoke County. Very small place several years they only had less than 200 residents. That is what I found online today.
