Doyle W. Walimire, 91 of Bucyrus, Ohio passed away Friday June 22, 2012 in the Carlisle House Bucyrus.
Doyle was born June 26, 1920 in Chatfield, OHIO to the late Russell J. and Fairy (Williams) Walimire.

Mr. Walimire grew up in Ridgeton, Ohio (Crawford County) where he made his home with his aunt Hallie (Bittikofer) Leimenstoll.

He graduated from Holmes Liberty H.S. in 1938.
A veteran of WWII Army, he was attached to the 84th Infantry Division, serving in the European Theatre with the Division Signal Co. as a radio man.
Mr. Walimire received the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars, American Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal.

Doyle was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church where he served in various capacities including the Choir since 1953 of which he was an accomplished soloist. The Epworth Mens Sunday School Class; Former President of the United Methodist Men and on the Administrative Council of Epworth U.M.C.
A former member of the Country Gentlemen and Opportunitones Barbershop Quartet.
Mr. Walimire served in Sales and Management capacities most of his life and was associated with Manufacturers Supply Co. in Cleveland, Ohio and with Fairfield Supply in Bucyrus, OH from which he retired in 1982. He was a salesman for Crawford Steel in Bucyrus and then went to Alloy Cast Steel Co. in Marion, Ohio covering five states. Doyle was a member of the American Legion Post 181 for over 30 years.

He was married May 5, 1946 to Wilma (Clutter) Walimire who preceded him in death on September 11, 2005.
In addition to his wife, Doyle was preceded in death by sister Mary Darlene Cummins.

Doyle is survived by son and daughter in law Larry and Janice Walimire of Bucyrus; grandchildren and great grandchildren Kimberly (Melchor) Carrillo and their children Noelle, Lauren, and Melchor of Visalia, CA; Dr. Peter Walimire of Ft. Myers, FL; and Kristen (Mark) McLaughlin and children Miriam and Harlen of Bucyrus; as well as two half sisters Ruby Jean Ridenour and Geraldine Wycoff both of Mansfield, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Don Kraps officiating, burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sat. from 11:00 until the time of service.
