Joan Etheridge Gibbs

Joan Etheridge Gibbs, 73, of Gallion died Feb. 6 at her daughter’s home. She was born Dec. 22, 1938 in Demopolis. Mrs. Gibbs was a retired banker and a member of the Providence Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Russell (Heather) Gibbs of Demopolis and John (Jennifer) Gibbs of Gallion; a daughter Sebie (Brian) Sellers of Gallion; two brothers, Roger Etheridge and Larry Etheridge of Linden; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Gibbs, of Prattville; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Providence Baptist Church on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Billy Harris and Rev. Warren Huggins officiating. Burial was at the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers were: Kevin Dixon, Trey Hereford, Ty Parker, Chase Drinkard, Gabe Drinkard, Scott Etheridge, Roger Etheridge and Clay Gibbs.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Members of the Linden High School Class of 1957 and of the Joy Sunday School Class at Providence Baptist Church.
