YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Elizabeth Choros, 86, of the Youngstown's west side, passed away Tuesday evening, May 15, 2012, at Briarfield Manor in Austintown, Ohio.
Elizabeth was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Austria, a daughter of the late Aloishofer and Leopoldine Bositz, and came to this area in 1951.
She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Youngstown, where she was a member and vice-president of the St. Anne Guild and was active in the parish pyrohy project.
Mrs. Choros was also a member of Ukrainian National Association, Branch 230, and the Ukrainian Providence Association.
Her husband, Michael Choros, whom she married Oct. 15, 1950, passed away Dec. 4, 2007.
Elizabeth leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Glenn Pyatt of Austintown; two grandchildren, Samantha and Eric Pyatt; a sister, Helen (Roger) Fotiuk of Austintown; three nieces, Betty, Chris, and Janet; and a nephew, Roger Jr.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Bositz.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, OH
Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home, and continue at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, 526 W. Rayen Ave.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Choros’ family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.
