KING - Mrs. Roxie Elizabeth Fulk Bennett, 88, died Monday, May 14, 2012. She was born April 27, 1924, in Stokes County to Roy and Jennie Elizabeth Payne Fulk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lester Bennett. Surviving are one daughter, Virginia Thore; three grandchildren, Kenneth Bowman, Annette Bowman, and Lewis Thore; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Daniel and Dawson Bowman; two sisters, Elsie Stanley, and Ethel Hall; one brother, Alvin Fulk; two half-sisters, Betty Anders, and Dorothy Chilton. Funeral services will be held at Boyles Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Slate Funeral Home in King.
