CAPE CARTERET — Henrietta Kallam Nelson, 89, of Cape Carteret, formerly of Mayodan, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, May 14, 2012, after a period of declining health.
Funeral services will be held at Beaver Island Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Henrietta was born on March 26, 1923, in the Beaver Island community to the late Henry and Alice Ziglar Kallam. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Euel T. Nelson.
Henrietta was a graduate of Stoneville High School and a life-long member of Beaver Island Baptist Church where she was very active in the Women's Missionary Union until she moved away from Madison-Mayodan in 2009. Additionally, she was a former member of the Beaver Island Extension Homemakers Club and the Northwest Rockingham Fire Auxiliary. She was employed by Humpty Dumpty Day Care for more than 20 years.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Wanda and David Fowler of Cape Carteret, Lu Ann and Ronnie White of Indian Trail; granddaughter, Erica White of Charlotte; brother and sister-in-law William (Bill) and Jane Kallam of Sanford; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ray Funeral Home in Madison is serving the Nelson family.
