Vivian Meyer Westermann, beloved wife and mother went home to Heaven on April 12, 2004.

Preceded in death by her husband, Rev Louis Westermann, she lived until her death in San Antonio where she worked for 25 plus years in the insurance business, retiring from Alexander & Alexander of Texas, Inc., in 1994.

She was an active member of Shepherd of The Hills Lutheran Church, serving for many years as a member of the school board and active in the LWML and various committees and Bible studies. She especially enjoyed her involvement in the Joy in the Morning Prayer group.

She was greatly admired for her faith in the Lord Jesus and as a “beautiful, spritely, stylish, classy, loving, funny and vibrant” mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Steven Westermann, Sherrie Proft and husband, Bill all of Houston, Ellen Jugar and husband, Rick of Atlanta, GA, Martin Westermann and wife, Ann of Rockdale, TX; grandchildren, Claire Proft Greer and husband, Tate, Ann-Marie Proft Heilman and husband, Jason, John Proft, Steven and Heather Brenner, Eric Jugar, and Shelley; great grandson, Julian Jugar; brother, Rev. Virgil Meyer and wife, Dorothy Jane of The Colony, TX; sister, Lois Shockley and husband, Dr. Fred Shockley of San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vivian Westermann Scholarship Fund, Shepherd Hills Lutheran School, 6914 Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 7240
