Hello,
I live in County Wexford, Ireland.
The following is a notice, which appeared in “The People” newspaper of County Wexford, Ireland of September 10th 1949, about my Grandfather John Moran of Bulgan.
I am particularly interested in finding out about “his kin John A. Moran”… “most respected citizen in public office in Bloomfield”. I have never heard of him before.
I would like to find out about the Mrs. Hirrschoff (his sister) mentioned.
I think there may have been another sister in Bloomfield.
Are Bloomfield and Glen Ridge far apart?
Would a notice like this have appeared in a local paper in Bloomfield in 1949?
I would be delighted with any suggestions on where to go from here.
"John Moran, Bulgan, Glynn, County Wexford, who died August 23rd, was buried in Killurin on August 25th, after a Requiem Mass at Saint Lawrence Church, Glynn.
On Sunday, August 28th, he was prayed for in the Holy Name Church Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield, N.J., where his kin John A. Moran was also prayed for. The latter was the most respected citizen in public office in Bloomfield. John Moran shall ever be remembered by those who knew him for his genial and humanitarian deeds.
There will be a Month’s Mind Mass offered for him September 23rd in The Sacred Heart Church, Bloomfield, N.J., and The Holy Name Church, Glen Ridge, New Jersey, where his sister and brother-in-law reside, Mr and Mrs. J Hirrschoff, 151 Linden Ave., Glen Ridge, New Jersey"
