You did not mention your location. The largest repository of Massachusetts newspapers is the Microtext Department at the Boston Public Library. They have the Boston Evening Transcript on microfilm from 24-Jul-1830 to 30-Apr-1941(there were also weekly editions, also at BPL - a Saturday edition from 10-Sep-1836 to 30-Apr-1837 and the long-lived Weekly Transcript from 07-Jan-1854 to 28-Dec-1917).
