WEST PEORIA - Maxine Mason, 87, of West Peoria passed away at 11:09 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2006, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born to Ross and Bessie Lavina Marsh Wright in Decatur on Aug. 21, 1918. She married Harold A. Mason on Dec. 9, 1938. He preceded her in death.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers and one grandson.

Surviving are two daughters, Marion (Jack) Pistole and Virginia Dinges; three sons, John Mason, George (Debbie) Mason, Robert (Cheryl) Mason; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald (Rhoda) Wright and Charles (Shirley) Marsh.

Maxine worked as a caterer for Viking Catering and was a homemaker. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Electa Chapter in Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the Peoria Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or to the Fondulac Rehab and Health Center Activity Fund in East Peoria
