Hello Amelia, Could be a connection further back. Our William Beggs(c1800-?)and Jane Graham(1803-1872)lived around the Ballygally/Broughshane area in Antrim..they did have a son John, but he migrated to Australia with most of his siblings. We've not discovered as yet William's nor Jane's birthplaces...still working on that. We are happy to share any info we find, so please let us know if you come across anything of interest to us in your research. Cheers Jennie & Anne

Hi Jennie and Anne, I discovered the will of William Beggs on PRONI's will calendars. I still do not know who his parents are, but am still searching. It seems that my part of the family was from the Ballyfrench/Ballyhalbert part of County Down and of the St. Andrew's parish. If you happen to find any connection between your Beggs and mine, please let me know.
Regards, Amelia

Hi Amelia, Does your ggrandfather John have any siblings? I found the will of a William Beggs, wife Sarah with son John in Ballyfrench. Do you have a date of birth for ggrandfather John? Peggy

Peggy, John was born about 1856. He had a brother Richard and two sisters Eliza and Mary Jane. He died 17 May 1927. That is about all I have on him though.

Hi Amelia, Then it is John's father's will that I found - parents William Beggs and Sarah. There was mention of John of Ballyfrench, daughter Eliza McCormack of Scotland (found husband William McCormick), and Mary Jane Baillie in America. Eliza born 1848 and Mary Jane possibly 1849.I did find a Robert and Mary Jane in Chicago, Cook, Illinois that may be them. There was no mention of Richard in the will. Did he die before William in 1887? Peggy
