Re: Eleanor Vivianne Isbell
I found this in August: found nothing in June. What day?
Isbell-Beatty Lt. David A. Beatty, 15th Air Force, was married Aug. 6, 1945, in Boise, Ida., to Eleanor Vivianne Isbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ed Isbell of Boise. The military wedding took place at the base chapel at Gowan Field, Boise, Ida. Lt. Beatty is a graduate of the Adams high school and has attended Peru state normal college. He enlisted in the U.S. air corps in January of 1942 and served with the 15th air force in the African, European and German theaters of war. He wears the DFC and the purple heart and four oak leaf clusters. He took part in five major battles and was lead navigator of his group. On his 42nd mission he was shot down over Trento, Italy and was a prisoner of war nearly ten months at Stalag Lupt I, Barth, Germany. Lt. Beatty reports again for active duty on Sept. 29 at Miami Field, Fla. Lt. and Mrs. Beatty are now visiting relatives in Oxnard, Calif.

Re: Eleanor Vivianne Isbell
Madeline -- Glad to help! Merry Christmas to you, too!
I have to ask -- a bit jokingly, did your grandparents stay together? I was really struck by the fact there wasn't a single thing about the bride! :(

Re: Eleanor Vivianne Isbell
Well, It did seem a bit strange didn't it. Yes, they stayed together, had children and then separated several years later until they both passed away. Weird, not much about her though. I was hoping there was a little bit more about her. He was from Nebraska so maybe that's why it talk all about him. Oh, well. I'll keep digging. Thanks for your help.
