origin and nationality roots of the last name: Sacra
I am very much interested in finding out more information as to the national and ethnic roots of the surname: Sacra. I do know that some by that name settled here in the U.S. in both Kentucky and Florida but that's about all I have. I would appreciate any help.

My Sacra family is French, the earliest Sacra I have found came from France, through England, and entered the US as an indentured servant. He lived in Va where alot of us still live. Please feel free to contact me if you want to know anymore.

Re: origin and nationality roots of the last name: Sacra
My Sacra family settled came to Jamestown in the 1660s, then settled in Kentucky, and later Indian Territory (Oklahoma) and Texas.
We have no information prior to their arrival here although there has been speculation that the name had changed from "Holyfield" — probably somewhere in the British Isles.
