I am seeking any descendants of the Barr family, my grandfather was James Barr from Greenock Scotland.
My father was also named James, born 1896 at Port Glasgow
Scotland.
Sadly he died when I was only 10 years old and I was therefore unable to find out very much about the family.
I know only that his mother was Christina McCulloch, and my father illegitimate. he adopted the surname of Barr after his mother died.

I know that two brothers went to the USA, I believe one was named Cameron Barr, I would love to make contact with any descendants.
If anyone knows about them or they see my query, I would love to hear from them or their descendants
I know there was correspondence with the USA until after WW2
my father died in 1941 and eventually the correspondence ceased.
A relative visited us shortly after WW2 his name was Hank, he was a young soldier, that is all I know about him, I did not know then who he was related to my father or mother, but I now believe it could have been my father
My father married Laura Maud Gagan in 1918
