I am compiling a database of English Catholics of the 1700's. Prior to the Revolution, Maryland was under the adminstration of the Vicar Apostolic based in London.

So far the database has over 125,000 names. I would like the database to be a comprehensive as possible and therefore would like to include the names of those Catholics in Maryland and elsewhere in the colonies.

So far the only pre-1789 list I have been able to find concerns those Catholic landowners (about 300) who were taxed in St. Mary's county, MD, in 1760.

Does anyone have or know of any other lists? As I live in rural Philippines, it would be helpful if the lists are readily accessible.
Thank you for your help.
With kind regards and God bless,
Br. Rory, FSC

Surnames: Hall
Hi!

I am looking for a Michael Raleigh Hall who I believe was with the Catholic migration to KY. Have you found this name in your collection? You might try the MdtoKy@yahoo.com, e-mail. They have a book called Putting Meat On The Bones; which tells about the migration. Also check St. Mary's Families web site. They are also compiling names. Good luck!!

Brother Higgins:

Are you still researching this information? I have both maternal and paternal ancestors who migrated with the MD Catholics to KY.

I'd love to contribute or share information with you.
