Jim, I am related to a great deal of family names supposedly listed in this book, "Maryland Catholic's on the Frontier", they are LAYTON'S, HAGAN'S, TUCKER'S, TAYLOR'S, MILES, MANNING'S, DUVALL'S, MOORE'S, and my ancestry just goes on and on. I am trying to figure out if I need to purchase this book, or would it be worthwhile to have for documentation to my lineages. I would like to ask one question if I may, from you, since you already own this book, did the author, Mr. O'Rourke document and list his sources in a Bibliography, and is this book Indexed by family Names?
I would greatly appreciate knowing this before I decide to spend $150.00 on this book. Thank you in advance of your reply to this matter.

O'Rouke did not have a bibliography/reference sources for this book.

His an adopted relative into the Moore family. He begins by following my family name (Moore) from St. Marys County, Maryland to Kentucky (a stop over in anticpation of the Louisana Purchase) finally to Perry County, Missouri.

He mentions that there were several families (98) that left Maryland for the journey to Missouri.

The book is 950 pages including 98 pages of family names.

Family name sections include:
Moore
Layton
Tucker
Cissell
Hagan
Fenwick
Brewer
Knott
Manning
Hayden-Drury

I live in St. Charles, Missouri and you are welcome to look at the book at my house. I can not loan this book out because it is so rare.

I believe that the Perryville Library has a copy if that helps.

There are a couple of web sites that has most of this information.

If you send me your email address I will forward the sire addresses and so of the sites that I found on my own that help document some of his informatiom.

My email address is JLMJim775296920@aol.com

Is there any information on the Clements family of Charles County, Maryland in that book? That knowledge would help me to know whether I should look for a repository.
