I'm wanting to buy a copy of the O'Rourke's book. I'm interested in becoming a memeber of DAR and I need information about John Manning.
My grandmother was a Tucker from Perryville, MO.

I found this post a few pages back. I called and talked to Dan O'Rourke about a year or so ago and he still had some books and they were $175. I just haven't had the money to get it but a library about 25 miles from me has a copy I can use. Here's a copy of the post:

Hi, grumpypuppy3, I received my copy of MCF from Mr. Dan O'Rourke, the brother of the author, Timothy J. O'Rourke. I called him at his home in Overland Park Kansas to order the book and he was very gracious. This book last October, (2006), cost $150.00, but it was my understanding at that time that the price was going to increase to $175.00. There were only about 35 copies of this book available. You can reach Dan O'Rourke at his home by calling: 913-599-7022 or by writing to him at this address: 10676 West 157th Terrace, Overland Park, Kansas KS 66221. I had to follow up with a phone call after I sent him the check to find out if the book had been mailed to me. He is very trustworthy and will follow through with his word. I hope you can get your copy of this book, it is a wonderful resource tool and family heirloom. The book is not without its flaws, but mostly do to the publisher/my copy had a page of information missing, but I was able to get a copy of this page from another MCF researcher who owned the book. I hope the information that I have shared with you will be of assistance to you. Good Luck and please post your experience and family history, so that we too may know your lineage to Maryland Catholic Families.

Good luck on becoming a member of the DAR. John Manning was my GGGGGrandfather.

I do a search every once in a while to see if there is an online copy but haven't found one. I have access to a copy and I could do a look up if you need one, although it might take a while since it's about 25 miles away and the genealogy center there isn't open all the time.

This has already been posted on this board, but I'll post it again.

There is an alternative to purchasing this book. It is available on microfiche. Check with your local Family History Center, if they don't have it in their library, it can be ordered for a very reasonable fee.

Microfiche do not have to be returned to Salt Lake City, so they will remain in your local FHC, available any time for look ups. Equipment is available to make copies of any pages you might want.

Here's the order number: FHL US/CAN Fiche 6125034 (12 fiche)

Hi All,

I have a copy of this Book, received from my mother on her Passing a few years back. This appears to be the 1980 Reprint Hardback Edition. She was from the Brewer family. My Mother's maiden name was Flora Jane Brewer.

If someone is interested in it, please contact me at hasdiane@att.net, I live in Olathe, Ks. It needs a proper Home.
