Andress.. Re: Fosters from Coosa Co., Alabama
My Andress family came to Polk Co. (and others) from Monroe Co., AL and I KNOW that there is a Foster / Haynes marriage but I am not at my computer right now and will have to get back with the specific info. (my modem is zapped so I am checking in from a friends computer.. that also means my email listed on here is not accesible at the time so I must check for a reply here) Anyhow.. off the top of my head I think of Jerusha Haynes as one of the main names married to Andress that came from AL to TX. I will get back with the info on Foster. In the meantime... anyone having info on the Andress / Hornbuckle / Smith names in this area please post a note. would love to find out more. Also, need to figure out if my James Edward Andress and family of Comanche / DeLeon / Hamlin TX came to TX via Polk as well or took some other route. They are the same but can't find a specific link. J M. (N.) Andress and wife Alice Opehlia Hornbuckle are my great grandparents and are buried at Sandhill Cemetery in Comanche Co., TX. other Andress' buried in DeLeon (siblings of my grandfather James Edward... son of J M. (N.)) as well as Hamlin. I have gaps at the J.M (N.) level as I can't connect him into line speifically. Any and all input will be appreciated. Be back here soon. Donna

Re: Fosters from Coosa Co., Alabama
I will take a chance that you still monitor this board. My GG-grandfather was William J Foster (b. 1838 in Georgia) married to Elizabeth Parker (b. 1840 in Georgia). I first find them in 1860 US Census in Butler County AL with one young child, John. I cannot find them again until 1885 Florida Census for Washington County. WJ is listed with 6 children and as a widower. Could my WJ & Elizabeth Parker Foster be connected to your Foster/Parker line? I have had a difficult time tracking them and would appreciate any assistance. Thank you so much.

Re: Fosters from Coosa Co., Alabama
Those names you gave me don't ring a bell with me. Since I have difficulty finding the parents of my Foster GGG grandfather (Augustus William Foster), I really can't be sure if your Fosters are connected to mine.

Re: Fosters from Coosa Co., Alabama
Thanks for such a quick response to my reply. The name of your GGG grandfather intrigues me. My GG Grandfather was William J, his son was William Henry, Wm Henry's son was Augustus. Quite a coincidence if they are not connected. I do not have my info with me, but it seems that in early Alabama marriage records I found on Ancestry.com, that there was another Foster/Parker marriage within a couple of years of my GG grandparent's marriage. Do you have any further info on Augustus William that I could use as clues to extend my family search? Thanks again for your response.

Thank you so much. It is remarkable the number of names that mirror my Fosters and Parkers. If I find any clear connection, I will let you know.
