Thanks for all the ideas. I love those freezer-ziploc bags. I put everything in there not just to keep the flood waters out, but to keep out the high- then low- then high- humidity. I prefer to pack things in winter when it is dry, to minimize the possibility of mold growth or something like that. My flash memory sticks with backups go in the ziploc bag too.
