I have been researching my family for years and found many road blocks. The farthest i could go was to the early 1800's on my mother side. My 5th great grand mother who i have picture of and was known to be half white. She was my road black. After looking at slave owner records and wills/probates i found out who owned her and her white father. Through him i found so many more ancestors and generations. So my question is is it right to research this "side" of my fmaily tree? I feel like i techinically dont belong to it. If that makes sense.
