Surnames: MacComber,Macomber,McComber
Begins in Scotland that the MacComber,Macomber,McComber family traces their ancestral roots back to pictish origin. The name first appeared
in ancient medieval records in county-perthshire,located in
Scotland. The family can trace ancestors back to the ancient
territories of Scotland between the 11th and 12th centuries.

That from very early on the MacComber,Macomber,McComber
family not only held lands and estates in county-perthshire
but were also activety allied with other influential family they also branched out into other territories and holdings, before taking the long voyage to the new world. I would appreciate
any information to back up my history here, also to fill in
the gap between the years 1200, to 1500 , any information
well help in my research.

Thanks
C.C.M.

Hi Christopher,

I was just wondering if any of the other influential families would be Riddell ? We have been dated back to 660 A.D and believe to be of Viking Origin. My Riddells are from Scotland.
My email addy is smetcalfe@sympatico.ca

Donna Riddell.

You might find the the McComber family helped establish Comber in Ireland.

I heard this from my grandad who was researching the Comber Family and thought we come from the McComber family.

Hope this is of interest
