Thanks Champlain9, that diagnosis is the pretty accepted one (tuberculosis). I did find an associate research on the person mentioned that stated he had acquired the measles during the Civil War and had to swim across a river somewhere. Following that, the measles settled in his lungs and he suffered with that problem the remainder of his days. There again both situations involved the lungs and would probably mirrored the same symptoms as tuberculosis.
