I know exactly what you mean. When I was about 23 yrs old my mother and I had words. I brought to her attention that I don't ever remember her telling me she loved me. She said, she was raised that way. I told her I was raised the same way but that didn't stop me from telling my daughter I love her everyday. From that day on which has been about 20 yrs my mother has been saying I Love you to those important people in her life, whether its after a phone call or in person. I think my whole family learned an important lession that day. Tell your loved ones you love them.
Some people ask why do you tell you kids you love them when they are just walking down the street to a friend houses. My answer to them is you never know when it may be your last time. As with the Attack on 9-11-2001 it was the last time the victims families got to say I love you. It may have been the last words they said to each other. Jean Alvey
