Carol: My research was done back in 1990 almost entirely thru sources in books. I never heard about Loyalist Declaration of Dependence. My one ancestor, Alexander Montgomery Sr. wrote the governent many times while living in Burton, N.B. He left Canada in 1791 after much suffering from living on such poor land. His son, Alexander Montgomery Jr., wife Juda Myer and family remained in Canada and settled with family in Yorktown, (Toronto) by1801.
He and his brother fought on British side in Long Island and New Jersey until 1783. He also fought in War of 1812 when American forces invaded Fort at Yorktown.
