All the people you metioned are in my tree. Aquileo was son of Francisco Xavier Julián de Zuloaga y Godoy, born in Mendoza in 1783 and brother of Manuel Antonio (my ggggg father, born in 1797).

Ángel María was son of Santiago Zuloaga Segura (born in Mendoza in 1850, son of Manuel Antonio).

I'm excited to hear that you found a Nilo in your tree. I am not able to view it since I have no Internet at the moment. I'm using my cell phone only for this message board post.

I looked up the old letters I had from Aquilio Zuloaga from 1890s and from Angel and Manuel Zuloaga in the 1920-1930s. In the letters from Aquilio, he states that his father, Aquilio, and aunt, Nicolosa, are siblings with Nilo. Aquilio married Delores Tejciro in March of 1893. The letters from Angel Maria Zuloaga spoke of visiting in the 1930s but ended up not being able to because he was called back from Washington to Argentina and didn't get to go to San Francisco, California.

In a letter from 1921, Manuel Zuloaga spoke of his grandfather Manuel Antonio Zuloaga being uncle of Nilo. That he has four brothers. And Nilo was brother to Nicolaza and Aquilio (who died in 1905).

At first I thought he said his uncle was Nilo so I thought Aquilio was he father. I believe I was wrong then. However, because I don't know enough Spanish to truly understand the letters, I have to use the computer to translate. I typed the paragraph that Manuel wrote in his letter below:

"Al respecto me es muy grato manifesté atarle que yo pertenezco a su familia de acuendo con los dato que se sirve reiitir. Su padre Nilo Zuloaga era hermano de Nicolasa y de Aquiles Zuloaga quien tuvo un hijo también llamado Aquiles, militar del ejercito argentino que fue muerto en el gradom de Teniente Coronel en la revolución del 4 de Febrero 1905. - Su padre era sobrino carnal de mi abuelo Manuel Antonio Zuloaga, guerrero de la Independencia argentina y de consiguiente Ustedes tía nuestra. - Somos cuatro hermanos varones, uno capitán de artillería y aviador, otro capitán de marina de Guerra, otro empleado y el suscrito, diputado a la legislatura de Mendoza y abogado. - Dos mujeres casadas que viven también en esta ciudad. - A tía Nicolasa llegué a conocerla siendo yo muy pequeño, murió hace mas o menos veinte años. - Como le digo, mi abuelo era tío carnal de su señor padre, según los datos que ha recogido."

Thank you for your post. I would be happy to share my information (I have sent you my email through the Ancestry.com email). I have letters my grandmother's grandmother received from Angel Maria Zuloaga that I learned of the family and hopely we can compare notes.

Margaret-
From my understanding, the Ester I am aware of was the daughter of Angel Maria Zuloaga, but I am not positive. I am from California and never spoke knew of that family until I began my research. I'm sorry I do not know if Ester or her family is still living. Those memories of those stories are a wonderful thing to hold on to.

My friend Gloria Gallingane knew an Ester Florinda Zuloaga martinez in BA Argentina from 1955 to 1958 when she was stationed at the American Embassy. Before Gloria returned to the United States, Ester and her father took her to the Army Navy Club for lunch. My uncle Bob also knows Ester. Ester visited my uncle in Kansas City in the early '60's.
I was listening to wonderful stories about Argentina and their times together.

Would you please let me know if Ester is still alive and whether she has any family.

I´m a descendant of Manuel Antonio Zuloaga Godoy born in 1797, son of José Javier Bernardino de Zuloaga y Avendaño(born around 1767) and María del Patrocinio de Godoy y Videla (1760-1824).

Manuel get married in oct 30 1830 to María del Rosario de Segura y Videla (1794-1844) and they had 12 sons (+/-). Later,in 1851, he get married to Ana Cejas.

One of the sons of Manuel and María del Rosario, Santiago Zuloaga Segura, was the father of Ángel María Zuloaga Argumedo (Mendoza 1885- Buenos Aires 1975; Brigadier General de la Armada Argentina)

Hi, my name is Robert, and I live in California of the United States. I am looking for possible cousins, descendants of Zuloaga, still alive in Argentina. My 3rd great grandfather, Nilo Zuloaga (or the USA possible change - Soluaga) was born in Mendoza, Argentina around 1831, and came to California prior to 1856.

Between the 1890s and 1930s Nilo's son, Lucas Zuloaga, and daughter, Isabelle Lillian Zuloaga DeMartini, began communication with apparently close cousins to them. Brothers, Dr. Manuel A. Zuloaga and Coronel Angel Maria Zuloaga, and possible third sibling Aquileo Zuloaga. They lived in the Mendoza, Rosario, and/or Buenos Aires areas of Argentina. The siblings aunt sounds to be Nicolaza Zuloaga (unknown married name, if ever married), she, and the siblings' father, were both siblings of Nilo Zuloaga.

If these names sound familiar to anyone, please let me know. I greatly appreciate anything that you can offer. I also will be greatly pleased to find any relatives that may be out there. Thanks

wanted to make an update---

I am looking for any information on the descendants of my g-g-g-grandfather's (NILO ZULOAGA, died in 1894) siblings and nephews.

Their names were AQUILES ZULOAGA (male, died 1905), NICOLASA ZULOAGA (female), MANUEL ANTONIO ZULOAGA (male), ÁNGEL MARỈA ZULOAGA (male, born in 1885), and JOSEPH ZULOAGA. Their family had lived in Argenitna for nearly two hundred years prior to the 1930s when knowledge of their whereabouts was lost to my greatgrandmother.

At last known, MANUEL was a lawyer in, or around, Buenos Aires. Both ANGEL and AQUILES were in a military department for Argentina. And JOSEPH was in the Naval department for Argentina. ANGEL latter (around 1920-1930) became highly involved with the aeronautics program within Argentina as well as wrote a book called “La victoria de las alas” (The victory of the wings).

If these names are known to you, or if you know of others connected to these names, please let me know. Thank you for your time and any information you can give.
