Hi, I am trying to trace any possible descendants of my great, great grandmother, Hannah England (nee Buckler). Hannah travelled from UK to Townsville aboard "Jumna" with her youngest daughter, Alice, arriving Dec 1889. I know she remarried a year later to an Alexander Lawrie. Hannah died in around 1908 in Queensland.

If my research is correct her daughter Alice married a Matthew Bennett in 1891 and they had 3 daughters although 2 died as babies. Alice herself died in Sept 1897 in Queensland at the age of 24. Her one remaining child, Alice Ada Bennett appears to have married a Percy Carter in January 1918 and it is her descendants I am looking for.

They may have had some connection with Charters Towers as I have a photo of Hannah and Alice taken there by a professional photographer and also a cousin of my mother once said that her father told her we had relatives in Charters Towers. I would be very grateful for any information. Thank you. Carolyn
