Zambia/Northern Rhodesia - Zeeman Family
Searching for information about my wife’s brothers. The family name was Zeeman and they lived in Northern Rhodesia (which is now named Zambia) in Africa. The children were named Yvonne Zeeman (my wife), Yolanda Zeeman (sister), Walter Zeeman, and Leslie Zeeman. The brothers Walter and Leslie were born in the 1950's which would make them in their 50's now.
The brothers were both adopted in the 1960's by a family surnamed French. Their adopted parents were Douglas French and Olive Avis French. Olive's maiden name was Olive Leahy or Olive Laye? The brothers were renamed Michael Walter French and Robert (Leslie?) French. Douglas French was associated with the Nkana mine at Kitwe, Zambia. We have heard that this family later moved to Australia but cannot confirm this.

Hi my dad, Leslie Zeeman lived in Zimbabwe when he was young and is 54 this year. We are South African and moved to Australia ten years ago? His uncle was Walter and his brother was Allan?

Re: Zambia/Northern Rhodesia - Zeeman Family
We could be from the same Zeeman Family. We found the Leslie & Walter we were looking for, but there are other Zeemans in the family. Send me a message on Ancestry.com with more of your family details. Do you know a June, Beatrice, Yvonne, Edward...Zeeman?
