I have the out of print book called Stories of Kentucky Feuds. The last story in the book is on the Hill/Evans feud. I am still trying to figure out if this is my Hill family that I have searched for, as one of the children's names was Colonel Hill, his given name. If anyone else is looking for the same, Hill family, please leave me a message.

Hi Jean and All,
Jean thank you for replying. I would think that somewhere the Castle families of Johnson and Elliott Counties connect.
It is verifying information that is so difficult.
Here is the links to info on the Castle and other families of Elliott Co.: Home Page of Charles Barker:
http://home.zoomnet.net/~cbarker

Elliott Co., KYGenWeb page http://home.zoomnet.net/~cbarker/elliott.htm

Be sure to click archives and read "A Grave for Two" by John Stegall. That is a sad story.
I hope everyone is staying safe in the floods in KY and TN.
Take Care,
Ramona

A cousin of mine Sam P Evans of Texas published a book on the Evans family from Garrard Co. KY and Johnson Co. Tx, and included is a re-type of a book (The Hill and Evans Feud by Lieut. J. J. Thompson 1854). If you are interested I can provide Sam's email and address.

Good Luck

I am searching for the Evans family of KY. Especially a Sarah V. Evans born around 1818 in Laurel Co KY; died 1888 in East Bernstadt KY. She married Hiram C. Moore in 1836. Hiram was born 1817 in TN or KY and died 1892 in London KY suburbs. He was a civil war veteran. Sarah's. middle initial 'V' may stand for Vaugh, a surname of the family. Children of Sarah Evans and Hiram Moore include Mary Moore 1842; G. Jerome 1841; Stephen 1844; Julia 1847; Margaret F. 1852; John 1850; Robert 1853; James R. 1854; Sarah E. 1857 and George P. 1859.

I am still unsure if they were in the feuds, it was more the similarities in the Evans names and places that caught my eye.

Hi Beverly,
I know what you mean about doing Evans Research.
My GGGreat Grandparents were Drew and Mary Pendleton/Pennington Evans of VA>KY.
Their Dau Millie Evans md. Daniel Fraley s/o Jessee Fraley, JR. and Barbary Trout Fraley March 24, 1862 in Morgan Co. KY.
Three of Gramma Millie's siblings md. Bowlings; all children of Jarrett Bowling and Nancy Vansant Bowling.
Her sister Jemima md. 1) Henry Stephens, 2) Thomas Fannin, 3) Louis Herbert Forest.
Her sister Mary Jane md. Silas Oppenheimer.
Millie's half-brother Wilson Evans md. 1) Martha Cantrell; md. 2) Anna Fyffe.
As you know the Bowlings were also involved in the Feuds-it is just finding the family connections.
Take Care,
Ramona
