My grandmothers sister was sent to Syracuse NY to the Syracuse State School in 1947 after their mother died during childbirth.. she was raised at the Sacred Heart Orphan Asylum in Ulster County from age 6 to 20 (about 1934 to 47). She ran away from the Asylum and then disappeared.
