Looking for relatives of the following family last names: Rogowski, Leschyshyn, Krysak, Cressock, Olesko. All came from Galacia between dates of 1901 and 1906.
I'm at a stand still as to any relatives in the Ukraine. It seems my search has stopped at their arrival into Canada.
If anyone can help, I will give you first names to go on if you reply. I have read all the previous message boards and none are related.
Thanks in advance

Re: Looking for relatives.
Thank you for responding to the message board. I used to live between Krydor and Hafford. My father Bill Leschyshyn used to take his truck to get fixed at a farm just out of Krydor. Mom recalls the names of Eugene, Napolean, Bill, Helen, and Mary. These were possibly your relatives. My grandmother Mary lived in Blaine Lake, and her married name was Rogowski. Most relatives that came from Ukraine lost cotact with one another. Her mother was Dorothy and father was Nicholas. Their last name was spelled Kressok, and on other documents it is spelled Krysak, so it is hard to find relatives. Nicholas was born in 1867, and Dorothy was born in 1863, and are burried in Manitoba, Gimli and Rembrandt cemetaries. There were still many relatives left in Ukraine. Grandma remembered two uncles being police officers or army men that her mother would write to in Ukraine, but we don't know what their names were, and Grandma died in 1995, adn couldn't remember much. If you think in some way we may be related, please let me know, or if there is anything I could help you with, don't hesitate to contact me. Darlene

Re: Looking for relatives.
If you can trace your Olesko back to town of Godziszow which is now close to Ukranian border, LDS has microfilmed church records listing many Oleskos under Poland, Lublin, Janow Lubelski. I have photocopies of those pages which I copied in error looking for my family name...Hesko. The way the O and L were written looked like an H on first glance. Don't want to throw copies away....somebody could use them!

Do you still have research?

Re: Looking for relatives.
In Oct. 2008 I sent all copies of Olesko research to someone in Canada. At that time her email addy was yung01@sasktel.net. I don't know if it is still valid that you could email directly and ask your question. Good luck. Lainie

Re: Looking for relatives.
There are abt 700 people with surname Krysak in Ukraine and abt. 5000 Oleshko. In Poland Oleszko more than 1000. TO move forvard you need to find a place they're coming from.
