Looking for info on a Huguenot ancestor, William Arment who settled in Delaware County PA around 1711 (at the time, it was or is regarded to have been Chester County). The earliest his name was written was 1712, on a land deed. He wrote his name or it was written as William Armond. Over time it became Arment. He was born, its said, about 1690 in France. I'm guessing he immigrated between 1705 & 1710, coming in via Philadelphia. The name D'Armand/(D')Armond have been found significantly in SE France, in or near what used to be the province of Dauphine. Can anyone help?
