Isaac Dubosc: Migration--France, England, South Carolina?

Does anyone know if Isaac Dubosc/Dubose and his wife Suzanne Couillandeau (as well as her parents) went to England before they--along with a number of other Huguenots arrived in South Carolina between 1685-1690? If so, where in England, and are there any records related to that migration?

Thanks!

Hi Brenda,

Yes, Isaac and Susanne went to England first.
Isaac gave his testimony of his Protestant faith at the Threadneedle church on 23 August 1682.
Moyse Brigaud, Susanne's stepfather, received assistance from the Threadneedle church in 1683.

There is an All DuBose reunion coming up in Summerville, SC near Charleston July 18 - 22. If you are interested in receiving notifications, please send an email to dubose_family@yahoo.com to get your name added to the list.

This reunion is for ALL descendants of Isaac DuBosc and Susanne Couillandeau or anyone interested in DuBose genealogy.

Thanks so much for the info! Do you know if there is a translated transcript of his testimony available anywhere? I just returned from a week in London about two weeks ago. I think this is a fine excuse to find another way back over!

Since I took the big trip this summer, I will not be able to join the reunion this year. Hopefully, I will be there next year.

Happy 4th of July,
Brenda

KHansen,

I checked with the Huguenot Society in London re information on Isaac's testimony, but the correspondent was unable to find anything. She did locate records of Moyse's aid and sent a copy of the record to me.

Can you please tell me where you found the information on Isaac? Is there a copy of a transcript of Isaac's testimony that tells of his experiences before he escaped from France?

Thanks for your help. Hope you and the rest of our family have a great week at the Reunion!

Yours truly,
Brenda Austin Mason
