Seeking information on Great Grandfather Charles Benkendorff Nov. 1831–Feb. 1902 Chicago Illinois. The 1900 shows immigrated to country 1869. Naturalization Index I have show naturalization date Nov. 4 1882 but no other information is given. I have found him in 3 Chicago city directories 1875, 1892, 1900. Report of Death shows Feb. 15, 1902. My Grandfather application for Birth Certificate filed Sept. 1942 shows parents as Charles Benkendorf and Margaret Roessler. Any information on his early years would be helpful and will share all I have with anyone interested.
