hi just read this post and found it interesting as my great grandfather William Gladstone Brocklehurst travelled from liverpool to Phillidelphia (destination central falls, Rhode Island), my great-grandmother Sarah Alice Marsden then met up with him months later from liverpool to boston and married the day she arrived at the docks on s.s Franconia (6th june 1912), they had 2 children in the states, 1 sadly died just 3months old and the other was my grandmother Irene Brocklehurst (born 1913). My great grandmother and my nan travelled back to the Lancashire, UK in 1915 without my grandfather, he continued to travel back and forth ALONE to the states and to Canada between 1912-1932 (maybe more if i find more records)
I am trying to find out why he kept going back alone, leaves me wondering if he had another family out there as my nan was 1 in 13 children!

Have you had any luck in finding out why your family travelled there and where could i go to find out more?
