I worked with the Sr VP for about 2 weeks suggesting changes and while she agreed that the changes I suggested were good and she was going to make a lot of them, the most important change, creating a GOOD FAQ, they have not done that yet. They made these changes for many reasons but the primary one was they did not want people to be able to use their snipping tool to copy the immigration passenger lists. I DID find a way around that, by snipping the passenger list so that you don't touch the inside of the box the list is in, but it comes out quite blurry, so you really have to look at the list to know what it says...the problem is the passenger doc jumps around so much it is hard to read...I suggest you play around with every icon you find to see what they do, as once you really get familiar with it, it is not too bad (at least not as bad as it was at first)...suggest if you have facebook to go to their facebook page and complain...it is a good thing that MOST their immigrations can be found on ancestry.com, but not all of them. The key is they are trying to hold us all hostage to pay for their overpriced documents ($50 if it is a 2 page manifest) --Several of us tried to talk them into a cheaper version where it does not come on the primo paper or even comes by email but they are adamant they are NOT goiing to offer any other options. I think they are going to find their customer base diminishing due to this...MOST of us won't pay $50 to get a copy of a manifest. Squeeky wheels get the most grease so go to their FB page or email them through the site if you can figure out how and complain...suggest you have every "geni" researcher you know to do the same...Maybe eventually we'll get through to them...JMHO the site has become just about useless...so unless they get LOTS of complaints things won't change...and forget about getti8ng them to take off the "jumping box"feature so we cannot copy...they refuse to get rid of that...even that would not be so bad it you could get the darn thing to move in a normal fashion and be able to follow the lines, but the jumping around bit makes is virtually useless...JMHO they wasted a LOT of money with all these site changes and have made it very user "unfriendly"...the more complaints registered the better. Maybe eventually they will listen-----At the very least they need a GOOD FAQ--the current one stinks and they don't even call it an FAQ so people don't know where it is...
