Does anyone know what the following abbreviations might mean on an Immigration and Naturalization Service Card Manifest Form 548? The cards were filled out in 1936.
"N.P.P" -- the Previous Disposition spot
"B.S.I. (CIV)" -- the Present Disposition spot (I know BSI means Bureau of Special Investigation but not what CIV means.)
I have looked all over the web to try to find abbreviations for card manifests or other forms from that time period but didn't come up with anything.
Thank you!

Could it mean Customer Identity Verification?
Check this URL. This is a new process but CIV may have been a term used over the years but now has a new way of checking.
