Armenian grandmother can anyone help?

Surnames: Nasseret or Nasserian
My grandmother was born in Constantinople on April 5 1904. She married an American sailor when she was 17 and had a baby in Constantinople Feb.24 1922. She had family in Constantinople and France. She went by the name Prapion Nasseret although I think she was a phonetic speller and that might not be correct. Her married name was Prapyan Popejoy. If anyone knows anything about Constantinople and Armenians between 1904 and 1923 (when my grandmother left for America) can you share your knowledge? I just found out about my heritage (my mom-her daughter- was adopted and didn't know her).

Hi, Ive just had a quick look for your ancester and found some information under the name PopejAy, not a lot I'm afraid. She married Charles Oscar Popejoy/jay who was born in Cathlamet, Washington and that is where she stated her permanent residence would be at the time that she applied for a passport although at the time she was living in North Dakota due to his naval service. In 1937 she visited France where she had stated that her sister lived, leaving Cherbourg on the ship "Berengaria" and arriving back in New York on 20th August. Her address at that time was given as 523 West 187th Street, New York. I have taken a photograph of her actual signature, if you would like to see it, please reply here. Regards Sue

Thanks for your help. It is hard to find information from so long ago. I have seen my grandmother's signature, too. I'm now trying to find out what was going on in Istanbul's Armenian community around 1919 right before my grandmother left for the USA. Thanks again for your message. Sybil

Hi
My name is Karen Surabian, and my Grandmother was also born in Constantinople around that same time. She fled to the US around 1914-1915. My sister is the family history guru I will tell her to visit this board. My Grandfather was born in Harpoot, Armenia, and his last name was Surabian .
