Hi Nancy,
Did your C. Haines have a middle name? Are we talking male or female here as I can find several who went to Quebec Canada.
A little more detail would help me to help you.

Hi thank you for your help. It is a woman Catherine Haines but no middle name that I know of. Her husband was John Haines. Appreciate anything you may be able to find.

Hello again,
The entry I gave is the only one for C Haines and it is mentioned as Mrs. it does not give her first name and the list is handwritten and does not shed any light on christian name.
I have not found a definite entry for Lucy Ann but there is one for an A L Haines. Shall have another look for L A otherwise shall post that one.
There is one for G. E. Haines (George Ernest - as sometimes happened they were known as...) - He is aged 20 years old sailing from Liverpool to Quebec on Empress of Ireland in 1906. He was born 1886 so that fits in with the marriage year possibly! It states he was a Labourer, He was sailing with a U B (could have been a V) Haines - Labourer too so not female or wife as it was state thus. He is aged 24 so could have been brother. The ship sailed on 26th July, 1906 - F Carey was the master.
Will keep looking for Lucy.
Good luck with this information. mj7777

When did John Haines go to Canada? Do you have his Passenger details, etc.?
I can look for this or I have found the follow but it just states Haines, not a first name and it does state Mrs.

Hello mj7777
John came after 1905 for sure. He was born in England in 1846 + or- and was born in Martley, Worcestershire. Catherine was born in Grimley, Worcestershire in about the same year. As for George Ernest it is believed that he and his brother came over at the same time. His brother's name was Harry Leonard. According to family information, (hard to read) George and Harry came over in 1905. Lucy followed later. We do know she was pregnant and lost a baby on the ship but I have never been able to verify that.
Thanks

Hello,
George was born in July 1878 and Harry was born in December 1885. Harry did go back to England I gather for a visit. He did return on Jan 26, 1922 on the Montcalm. States that he is going back to work and going to his brother George's in Heathcote. I see now on his return in 1922, it says his first arrival was April 1905 arriving in Halifax. Sorry didn't see that before and in 1922 he sailed from Kidderminster.
