Kennard James KINGSBURY b.1812 and Louisa JACOBS-KINGSBURY b. 1830 had ten children, two of which emigrated to So.Africa I believe in late 1800’s (after 1886 death of K. James) or early 1900’s. The (5) emigrants are; Emma Abi KINGSBURY b,1855 who was joined by her mother Louisa (now a widow) and sister Janet Ellen KINGSBURY-ABBOTT b.1867 with husband Charles Albert ABBOTT b.1867 and dau, Louisa (abt.ae 3). A note in family history has them going to Capetown. However in researching I have found in “UK Incoming Passenger Lists 1878-1960” (1927 and 1934) Charles Albert ABBOTT and Emma Abi (his wife) returning to Southampton from DURBAN.
Kennard James and Louisa KINGSBURY had a family of ten; Thomas b.1851; Anna Louisa b.1853; Emma Abi b.1855; Mary Ann b.1858; Alice b.1860; James b. 1862; Phoebe Louise b,1864; Janet Ellen b.1867;Caroline b.1868; and Walter Jacob b.1872.
James b.1862 is our direct ancestor. I wish to contact anyone having information on any member of this family, especially the ones that went to So.Africa Any information would be most appreciated. Thank you.
