Surnames: Kingsbury

You gave me a list of 10 Kingsbury children, and I thought I would try to trace some of them on the last census before their father Kennard died, so these are all from the census of 1881.

At Heathside Cottage, Grove Road, Christchurch.
Louisa Kingsbury aged 38 b 1843 Edmondsham, Dorset.
Janet E Kingsbury aged 14 b 1867 Longham, Dorset, a laundress.
Caroline Kingsbury aged 12 b 1869 Longham, a scholar.
Walter T Kingsbury aged 8 b 1873 Longham, a scholar.

They are all boarders with Edwin G Kingsbury and wife Ann - and their six daughters. I suspect Edwin is related to Louisa. He was born 1839 Dorset, and she at Edmondsham Dorset.
-------------------------------------------------------
Phoebe Kingsbury is at Southlea, Holdenhurst, Christchurch, Hampshire. She is living with 20 people, and she is a housemaid aged 18, born about 1863 at Taunton Devon. [Not sure if this is the correct Phoebe on your list because she was born Taunton and none of the others were]
--------------------------------------------------------
At Haviland Villa, Christchurch
James Kingsbury, a bricklayer, aged 18, born 1863 at Longham, Dorset, a Bricklayer's Labourer. He is in the household of George & Paulina Francis.
---------------------------------------------------------
At Grove Rd, Woodcroft, Christchurch.
Alice Kingsbury. She is living in the same road as her mother, Janet, Caroline and Walter but it is not the same house. She is in the household of William & Jane Price, a lodging house, and she is a Dom Servant aged 19, born 1862 Longham, Dorset.
---------------------------------------------------------
Couldn't find Mary Ann Kingsbury.
----------------------------------------------------------
At 5 Westover Villas, Westover Rd, Holdenhurst.
Emma Abi Kingsbury, aged 25, a domestic servant, born 1856 Longham, Dorset. She is in the household of James McGill, aged 75, a Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Bournmouth.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Anna Louisa - not found.
----------------------------------------------------------
At Walnut Tree House, Barking, Essex.
Thomas Kingsbury, married, aged 30, born 1851 Dorset.
He is a Master Smith & Farrier Employing two men.
His wife is: Ann Kingsbury, aged 34 b 1847 Middlesex.
They have a son....
Thomas Kingsbury, son, aged 8 b Ongar, Essex.
Plus one servant and one lodger.
----------------------------------------------------------
It seems to me that almost all the children were scattered around the Christchurch area. I just couldn't seem to find Kennard. I could always look for him on the 1871 census though. ....Remember that all the above are
from 1881 census's.

Hope this helps, always providing you don't have this information already....?

Brian.
