I recently read an article on immigrants who returned to Europe, some permanently, some to visit, and some who were classified as "Birds of Passage" (i.e., who only came to work the season). My grandmother returned to Europe on a couple of instances before she finally settled permanently. Where might one locate ship passenger records for ships GOING to Europe rather than coming from there? And are there indexes? I know the ship she came in on for her final trip to the U.S.; I do not know the names of the ships she booked to travel back to Europe.
