No port of arrival

No port of arrival

Would anyone know where to look if the naturalization index card has a date of arrival but no port of arrival? I have looked at all the passenger lists I could find on the internet and Ancestry. I've looked at departing records, arrival records into Canada and the United States and can't find a thing. I've checked Ellis Island records as well.

My relative supposedly came over from Ireland via Liverpool arriving May 24, 1900. I can't even find a ship that arrived that date.

Any suggestions?

Joseph Robert Gordon, b: 10/21/1876 County Down, Ireland. Supposedly got here May 24, 1900. Would have made him 23. He was single.
